Adoption

Adoptive parents open their hearts and homes to children in need of a forever family. Most adoptions in Colorado are handled by comprehensive adoption agencies. However, Leta Brandes Law, LLC provides representation for step-parent adoptions, intervenors in dependency and neglect cases when parental rights have been terminated, caregivers adopting children, which the biological parents have abandoned the children or are deceased.

Some adopted children may have experienced trauma in their lives and may have attachment issues. Furthermore, some of the children have been exposed to alcohol and/or drugs while in the womb, which may have long term effects. In addition, some children may suffer from mental health issues.
